Cinematic Director
PLAYSENSE is looking for an experienced and talented Cinematic Director to join an established team of professionals. We are making full CG cinematic trailers, Unreal Engine trailers, Gameplay trailers, Music trailers, any type of trailers you can imagine. What the Cinematic Director Does at PLAYSENSE:

The position demands expertise and background in crafting highly dramatic and emotive storytelling for use in game cinematics. The Cinematic Director will work alongside the VFX Producer to guide the cinematic team in delivering top-notch storytelling, voice acting, animation, camera work, and editing for all main story and gameplay-centered cinematics.

As a member of Playsense, you will team up with the writers to develop compelling storylines that captivate audiences through an immersive cinematic experience. You will work with external cinematic teams to ensure the direction, tone, and style align with the internal team's creative and quality objectives, and partner with the VFX Producer to bring the creative vision to life through cinematic content that adheres to creative, quality, and budget standards, all within a set timeline.

Key Duties:

  • Conceive, guide, and execute the cinematic creative vision, communicating it effectively to all levels of the organization and client.
  • Produce high-quality cinematic content in all areas, including narrative, storyboarding, animatic, previsualization, blocking, casting, voice direction, animation, editing, cinematography, lighting, color grading, VFX, and audio.
  • Maintain a consistent tone and style throughout the cinematic experience that aligns with the Creative Director and Art Director’s vision.
  • Coordinate feedback from stakeholders and turn it into practical plans by conducting regular reviews and providing constructive feedback to the cinematic team.
  • Help implement efficient pipelines, procedures, and techniques for taking a cinematic from script to final in-game rendering.

Required Technical Qualifications and Background:

  • 5+ years of credited experience as a CG director in either video game cinematics or TV/film.
  • Strong proficiency in cinematography and editing.
  • Ability to proactively solve creative problems and efficiently manage and resolve issues.
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Proficiency in Unreal or other game engines.
  • A portfolio of work that represents your talent and skills is required
  • Good communication skills in English

Desirable Skills and Background:

  • Experience directing animation teams from outside the organization.
  • Knowledge of Adobe Premier\Da Vinci
  • Experience co-directing motion capture sessions.
  • Passion for gaming, with experience playing popular action-adventure titles.
  • Team-oriented approach, with a focus on delivering the highest quality content.
